My smoothie dreams have finally come true. I’m now the proud owner of a Vitamix, the Porsche of blenders. I’ve had my eye on this incredibly powerful machine for months and it was really just a matter of time until we moved in together. I guess you could say it’s getting pretty serious.
Since my Vitamix union, my mornings have been upgraded from running to the juice shop and spending over $10 per smoothie to creating my own nutrient-dense concoctions at home. Making smoothies can be pretty fun and, with a Vitamix, they taste just like they were made by the pros.
The Vitamix transforms everything from frozen fruit to leafy greens into a creamy, delicious mush within seconds. And, unlike juicing, which has its many advantages, blending includes the fiber as well. So, you get all the health benefits of your greens, fruit, seeds, etc.
Here’s my go-to smoothie to start your day. It’s packed with healthy fat, protein and fiber to wake you up and keep you satiated for hours. Try it!
Raspberry Avocado Smoothie
1 cup coconut water
1 handful spinach
1 cup frozen raspberries
1 tbsp maca powder
1 tbsp cacao powder
1 tbsp ground flaxseed
The Vitamix is super easy to use. You simply add the ingredients into the canister and blend on high until smooth.
The downside of the Vitamix is its size. It definitely has a presence on the counter, but I think it’s totally worth the spacial sacrifice. Also, the Vitamix is not on the cheap side as it can cost you upwards of $400. But again, it’s worth the yummy smoothies you’ll be crafting every morning.
Overall, I highly recommend adding a Vitamix to your appliance collection. Just like a good boyfriend, it’s reliable, strong and doesn’t make too much of a mess. I’m sure you’ll live happily ever after together.
